How about a little needling!

This time of year, we think about snuggly blankets and
cozy throws.  When its cold outside, as soon as we're back
in the house, we head straight for these comforting pieces
of woven goodness.

Crochet, knitting and weaving fall under the category of
fibre arts.  At one time or other, we've tried our hand at one
of these art forms in the hopes of making some
mittens, toques and scarves.

Another art form that falls into fibre arts are quilts.
Yearly exhibits take place St Jacobs, Ontario by
the local guild.  Visions of baby and kid's quilts
come to mind; newly weds have been the recipients
of lovingly-made pieces as well.

Another form is wet felting, wet wool painting and
weaving.  Using wet materials to mould into
decorative art to frame and place on your walls. 
3-D objects can be created, too. 

Tatting is something I remember my grandmother
doing and using these delicate works to trim dresses
and doilies.  I've not seen much of this art form since.

A lot of great things come out of the fibre arts!
