Painterly

Let's talk about paintings today.
As you know, paintings come in a variety of media, styles, large format or small, original or prints.  There's a variety to suit all tastes, and price points.
Everyone has a style they gravitate to. It's interesting to watch someone walk into a gallery space and see what grabs their eye. The reaction can be subtle and at times, a piece will stop them in their tracks. 
My first gallery experience was when I was in elementary school.  A class trip to the McMichael Collection was fabulous.  This is where I experienced the "stop you in your tracks" reaction to Lawren Harris' "Mount Lefroy".  The painting was HUGE!  And beautiful!
His style, if you are not familiar, borders on abstract featuring an array of blues, aquas, whites and greys.  To this day, I still vividly remember my reaction. (sigh)
Anything you hang on your wall, I hope anyway, should speak to you and you're not hanging something/anything to fill a void on your wall.
